Last easter I had a big suprise come; something that I had been dreaming of since I was five years old and took my first riding lesson. I saw my dad talking to my trainer and I thought, oh no what could I have possibly done wrong? I came walking in with the small Arabian gelding that I had been half-leasing and I saw my dad standing by the stall that I tacked him up in. He told me that I was getting a horse. Better yet it was Thursday evening and he told me that he would be here on Sunday or Monday. At first I thought that it was some sort of cruel joke because it was almost April fools. When I realized it was true I was speechless. I just didn't no what to say. A horse, of my own? It seemed impossible! I had been riding different horses for the last seven years and now, finally I would have my very own horse! When he came I was so excited! I had never seen him before. He was so beautiful. He was a chestnut gelding with two connecting stars and a pink snip with a black nose. The next day I got to ride him but that's where the problem came in. He went lame, and badly. For the next month me went through thinking that he had every different kind of lamenitis until we finally realized that he had an overstreched tendon, probally from the drive over and that rubber wedges should be put between his shoe and his hoove. Now he is all better and I have been able to ride him for the last two weeks.
